Here is another throwback story of the success of one of our students from March of 2013.
When Amber came to the Literacy Coalition it was the third-place she had approached for help with her reading skills and studying for the GED. She knew that one-on-one interaction with an instructor was what she needed. She found that with tutor Penny Irwin.
After many months of studying, Amber took the GED in December and passed. When she received her GED certificate in the mail, she brought it into the office, beaming with pride. She showed the other students, sharing her experience and encouraging them to persevere in their studies.
Amber’s hard work with tutor Penny paid off beyond her GED. Recently enrolled in college classes, Amber is also celebrating a new job!
